FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Will I need to wear anything in particular?
I would recommend that you wear something comfortable that you can move in. You might want to think about what activities you'd like to look at in your lesson and wear something appropriate to that activity. (High heels might not be the best thing to wear in a running lesson, for example.)
Should I bring anything with me?
You are welcome to bring along anything you want to work with in a lesson, but you are not required to do so. Your lesson is your choice, and I will work with you on whatever you'd like to look at. Examples of things that people may bring include a musical instrument, a laptop, sporting equipment , a hairdryer, a bottle of water, a heavy bag.
How many lessons will I need?
There is no clear and definite answer to this. Each person's circumstances are unique, and everyone is at a different place in their Alexander journey. We can have an initial discussion about how many lessons you may want to sign up for, but I recommend that new students sign up for a block of 10 lessons because this will give you a great introduction to the work.
I am recovering from an injury. Can I still have lessons in the Alexander Technique?
Yes, you can, but I will always check that you are receiving the appropriate medical care before we have any lessons together. The Alexander Technique is a form of education, not a form of healthcare or therapy. Whilst it can have enormous benefits on the way that the mind and body functions, it cannot make structural changes. Please contact me if you wish to discuss further specifics.
If you have any other questions, please get in touch. I would love to hear from you.
